The new 11.07-meter vessel, equipped with three 200 HP engines, features state-of-the-art technology to ensure safe and efficient navigation. This resource will be essential for bolstering patrol efforts in the Galápagos Marine Reserve, promoting the conservation of its biodiversity and the sustainable management of its natural resources.
In parallel, and as part of efforts to enhance the operational capabilities of Galapagos National Park personnel, three training workshops were conducted for park rangers. These sessions focused on preventive and corrective maintenance of outboard motors, equipping personnel to extend the lifespan of the equipment and optimize surveillance and conservation efforts.
This collaboration reaffirms the commitment of Fundación Jocotoco and its partners to the conservation and sustainable management of protected areas in the archipelago. Thanks to the support of CAF - Development Bank of Latin America, with GEF-7 funds, Rewild, and other entities dedicated to conservation, the infrastructure and technical capacity of the DPNG are being strengthened, benefiting current and future generations who depend on this ecosystem.
