Jocotours Fam and Press trips to Yanacocha

On March 30^th, Jocotours, with the sponsorship of Fundación Jocotoco and the support of the Association of Tour Operators in Ecuador (OPTUR), organized a Familiarization Trip (Fam Trip) to our Yanacocha reserve. The goal was to introduce the reserve as a natural destination close to Quito.

Eleven travel agencies and Quito Turismo's executives attended the Fam Trip. The group of 25 people, led by Jocotours team and the reserve park rangers, learned about the cloudforest ecosystem at the center of interpretation, walked the trails, visited the hummingbirds garden, and enjoyed breakfast and lunch at the Zamarrito Cafeteria.

At the end of the journey, Jocotours Operations Manager Michelle Hidrobo gave a presentation about how Fundación Jocotoco and its partners protect Ecuador's biodiversity.

After a couple of weeks, Quito Turismo organized another visit to Yanacocha reserve to introduce it to media representatives of Cañar, Azuay, El Oro and Manabi. There were 7 people from 5 different media channels of press and TV. We distributed our promotional material about Fundación Jocotoco and Jocotours to promote our work.
