Thanks to many of you, our donors to the Save the Choco campaign, we now protect additional 1,245 acres of the Ecuadorian Chocó!
Thanks to many of you, our donors to the Save the Choco campaign, we now protect additional 1,245 acres (~500 ha) of the Ecuadorian Chocó! We increased the Canandé reserve to approximately 21,000 acres (8,500 ha). Our expansion is almost 1,5 times larger than the size of NYC's Central Park.
Our main goal remains to connect protected areas of more than 650,000 acres (263,000 ha) - nearly the size of Yosemite National Park in California. Apart from 864 acres (350 ha) bought earlier this year, we have 10,233 acres (~4,141 ha) further acquisitions lined up to do so.
Thank You for your massive help to #SaveTheChoco.
