Park rangers trap camera training

Our park rangers attended a workshop about the use of trap cameras. The training was held at our offices in Quito and at Yanacocha Reserve. On the first day professionals of Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) taught our staff how to use, install, and manage data from trap cameras. Each representative designed their own methodology to collect data according to the different objectives of each project and reserve.

The following two days were spent at Yanacocha Reserve. They practiced what had been learned at the workshop with different types of trap cameras. This workshop also included activities focused on leadership and empowerment, and a hike along the trails. Our park rangers had the opportunity share with staff from Quito their professional and personal expectations, and to know each other better.
