We are happy to announce that we have received two new grants! The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, under the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act, will fund our new project "Protecting east Andean subtropical forests in Ecuador". Our main goal is to address crucial threats for the Cerulean Warbler, Canada Warbler and Olive-sided Flycatcher. We will achieve this by expanding the Tapichalaca reserve, working with the community of Palanda in habitat enrichment, monitoring migratory birds, promoting certification of bird-friendly coffee to encourage sustainability of this excellent high-altitude coffee in national and international markets.

In addition, we won a grant from the British Embassy of Ecuador for the project "Recycling plastics to improve lives in Las Tunas community, Ecuador". Our objective is to restore the habitat for endangered species and improve the livelihoods of the local Las Tunas community, next to our Ayampe reserve. We will collect an average of 340.000 waste items for recycling along the beach and the Ayampe River, and restore the watershed by planting 1000 native trees.
