Jocotoco is part of ECOador, environmental film festival

For the fourth year in a row, ECOador has taken place as the only Environmental Film Festival showcasing the best international and national productions. Our Research Coordinator, José León, gave a presentation about the importance of biological corridors.

For the fourth year in a row, ECOador has taken place as the only Environmental Film Festival showcasing the best international and national productions. This is an independent, non-profit festival that wants to generate a conversation around the most relevant issues of the planet through the audiovisual format.

Our Research Coordinator, José León, gave a presentation about the importance of biological corridors. He focused on our work around our Canande and Buenvantura reserves where we started large-scale conservation projects. For example, in Canande we have strategically purchased plots to prevent the expansion of new logging roads. This allows us to preserve connectivity with the Ecological Cotacachi Cayapas Reserve and thereby create a biological corridor.
