Tapichalaca Reserve recently expanded

Fundación Jocotoco recently expanded our Tapichalaca Reserve with the purchase of the 34 hectare Carrion property. The forest on this property is in excellent condition and connects a previously isolated part of the reserve where the Jocotoco Antpitta is found. There is a good chance that the endangered Jocotoco Antpitta will be found also on the newly acquired property. Additionally, our expansion will protect scarce east-slope species such as the Red-hooded Tanager, the White-bellied Antpitta, and large cats including Ocelots and Pumas.
