This reserve was rescued from the total destruction of its ecosystem through a long and continuous process of reforestation, achieving the protection of flora and fauna species, both marine and terrestrial.
HOW TO GET THERE
Located 20 minutes south of the Ayampe Reserve.
The hours of service for the visit of trails is from 07h00 to 15h30.
NOTE: The animals in the reserves must be fed ONLY by the persons in charge.
BIOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE
An area of high importance is Playa Dorada, which is less than 350m long and 100m wide. In this sector there is an intense spawning of two species of threatened marine turtles (green and hawksbill). The protection of nesting sites of the second smallest Hummingbird in the world, the Esmeraldas Woodstar (Chaetocercus berlepschi) stands out as well.
